The YWCA Knoxville continues it’s mission to eliminate racism by holding their Annual Race Against Racism 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk. The YWCA Race Against Racism has been set for Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center in East Knoxville. Sign-in and registration will begin at 11:30am and the race will kick-off at 1:00pm. The route has been designed to run along historical markers and the day includes exhibitors, entertainment, speakers, food and most importantly the inspirational message to do everything in your power to eliminate racism. The 2010 Race Against Racism Honorary Chair is Representative Joe Armstrong, who is challenging businesses, organizations, churches, families and individuals to take part in this race to show their dedication to the cause.
